Even though I've only seen a few of the dubbed episodes, I have to agree that they don't go well with the characters. I personally after seeing the original Japanese can't stand to watch the English dub.

I definitely agree with that one. Naruto's voice actor's pretty new to voice acting, Sakura, amazingly, sounds more annoying in English than Japanese, and everyone else is just mismatched horribly...I would have rather seen Zabuza's voice actor go to Kakashi, if anything else....bleh...

Uhh...define growing up. 'Cause most kids that watch Naruto have only seen the dubbed version, and don't know the difference between the Japanese and English voices.

Sorry, claiming I'm not a Naruto fan because I argue down to the detail is misplaced. It usually works the other way around. Ya know, where someone that knows nothing about the anime, but tries to talk about it?

"Real" fans are all relative...You have fans of the dubbed version, fans of the subbed version, and the small percentage of fans that like both. Fans of the dub get upset that fans of the sub don't like the dub, because it's edited and suited to American audiences. Sub fans don't like dub fans because they only have seen the dub and claim to know everything about the anime. The ones in the middle see both sides, and try to remedy the two, which never really works.

I assume you've never seen the subbed one, or at least enough of it for it to really matter to you.

I like subtitled anime much better because you have little cultural things in 'm that make them all the funnier, or interesting...like Naruto's overuse of "Dattebayo," or Kankuro adding "Jan" at the end of every sentence, or how Jiraiya has old man mannerisms, or how Orochimaru speaks in female mannerisms. I could go on and on.

The only problem I have is with Ino. I mean in the 1st episode she was introduced her voice was cool, but then when she first yelled it did sound a little annoying :o. But thats a little thing and besides its not like the voices are done by cats or anything ;) .

lol GON you missed one he's also playing Vincent Valentine in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Anyway as for the "real fans" arguement, I'm going to have to go with GON on this one. I've seen far too many arguements break out over anime because the different fans disagreed with eachother. The problem is that most of fans of dub or sub can't seem to agree unless they are one of the few who likes both the dub and the sub. It's something that really isn't going to change anytime soon. I will say this though it usually ends up creating some interesting debates when both sides are extreamly stubborn.

U also go to realize that unlike the english language the japanese can put emtion into wht they say...in english its really hard....i personally think that some words when spoken sounds more emvicide on emotion rather than just saying it...*note cant spell*...i dont know if i make any sense to anyone but it works in my head

I like the voices in japanese and in the dub, but with a few exceptions

1. Itachi's japanese voice is better than his english voice to me.
2. Naruto doesn't say "Believe it!" in japan. It's just used to replace other stuff that they took out from the japanese version. they added his catch phrase cause they can't sdtop his mouth from moving

They didn't know how to translate, "Dattebayo." They can cut and edit all they like, it's not a matter of his mouth not stopping, it's the sheer stupidity of the editors.

In my opinion, when they made the English voices they tried to smooth things over a bit too much. The dubbing sounds slow and the sentences dragged out to match the mouths. And I swear, if I hear "Believe it" one more time...
