Gai v.s. Kakashi

Pesonally, I'd have to say Kakashi, he's cool and smooth and WAY better looking. :D

Other way around. Kakashi beat Gai 51 times, Gai beat him 50 times.

Kakashi, easily...the Sharingan mimicry can copy pretty much any of his moves...Gai doesn't use nin or genjutsu, and he has Omote and Ura Renge, plus gates...Kakashi can utilize all three, gen, nin and taijutsu. He has tons of techniques copied, and his speed is definitely comparable to Gai's. In a true nin fight in a forest or dark area, Kakashi would have no trouble at all. In an open field, he may have some difficulty if Gai opened all his gates. However, Kakashi has the level 3 Sharingan, and can see where Gai will move. And since all Gai is is taijutsu, movement prediction will take care of him.

i dont know myself i would say kakashi but not because of the shariangan, but because of his very advanced techniques and beside in the anime gai says something bout the shariangan

he tells everyone when they fight itach for the first time that he learned a way to counter the shariangan (even though he lost thats not the point), just by "looking at there feet, dont look into their eyes" and u wont get caught in it

All right when I saw this thread about who was better. "Kakashi or Gai?"
I knew I had to throw my two cents in..so here is my choice and why it is.

Gai, no doubt, my favorite one is Gai. Yes, He has his more annoying momments and isnt the best looking character on the show unlike kakashi.
But really, in his own unique way Gai is the best.
He never quits when he starts something and when he can't do it then he pushes himself even more pass his normal human limits.

A lot of people are always on his case..."Gai is stupid looking" Or "Gai only does Taijutsu, he is so lame!" Well true Gai only specializes in taijutsu but guess what? He is a Jounin JUST LIKE KAKASHI! O_O

Shocker aint it? For someone who is supposedly more crippled in the arts of ninjutsu and genjutsu than Kakashi, both are Jounin? I find it hilarous...

Also Kakashi to me is kinda like Shikamaru, much too lazy to do anything, hell he hardly trained anyone but Sauske or however you spell his name.
Gai on the other hand is very inspirational and cares about his students.
Yes kakashi stated "I won't let my teammates die" and thats cool.
But really he should've done more than just give his three students tree training exercise, for this I hold a slight grudge against him.

Like I said earlier here, Gai is inspirational and doesnt quit with what he was given, he trains Lee, Neji and Tenten to thier best and always does his best to make them feel proud of themselves. Hell, even I like his annoying speeches.

Gai is overall a better teacher and a better person than Kakashi is and he shall always be my favorite.
(and Im not just saying that because I play him in the card game..>.>;;;)

If we are talking about before Kakashi gets Magekyou, gai could win (although im not saying he would). Taijutsu and speed are the natural enemy to the sharingan (Witness the Lee and Sasuke fight). But Kakashi probably could match gais speed and win

Actually, Kakashi would do the same thing that Sasuke did before fighting Gaara in the Chunin selection exams. Sasuke could match Lee's speed from copying Lee's movements in their fight, and then training with what he saw before. Maybe Kakashi could make a move like Barrage of Lions. Who knows.

I'd say Kakashi. More likely to win before Mangekyou, and definetly after he gets Mangekyou.
