My personal opinion of the dubbed...is a violent butchering of good anime..... i cant stand the annunciation and that sasuke sounds like a 35 yr old man, taht and shikamarus voice actor, is the WORST possible. My opinion

It's a matter of opinion, of course. I think the Naruto dub is quite good--but perhaps that's because I'm used to their work, as many of the same people did the Digimon dub.

I guess it's because I'm old enough to remember dubs of shows like Gatchaman ("Battle of the Planets") and Golion ("Voltron"), that really were "violent butchering of good anime". Names completely changed, settings changed, all the enemies changed into "robots", and in the former case even horrible new footage to fill in all the stuff that the dubbers cut out.

Compared to that, Naruto is essentially intact.

Though I could've done without the awful faux-metal theme song the dubbers stuck it with...

I completely agree, the Dub could have been better, but compared to other Dubs, it really isn't that bad. One peice is a perfect example of a poor dub, just be happy they didn't nueter Naruto the way the did that.

i didnt think it was that bad, it was acually wht they did with e fusion thing in dbz, they dual layered his voice, i will admit they didnt blend id very well but im sure it will be fixed in the end, and i agree with u that they better get a good ochimaru voice or im done watchin the CN version...i only watch it it make my comparisons *note i cant spell*

In Japan, Naruto is aired on TV Tokyo, and as far as I know, none of us live in Japan, so the only way for us, living in the US and Canadia, to watch Naruto legally is on Cartoon Network and YTV.

It's as simple as this: if you are not in a region where the Naruto anime is licensed, you can't watch it. If you are in a region where the Naruto anime is licensed, you can only watch that licensed version. It's not a matter of opinion. It's a matter of fact. That is the law. Now stop trying to argue with me.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, but as for what I said that you quoted, what I meant is if the Naruto anime is not licensed in your region, it doesn't make it "okay" to download episodes of it. If you want to see it and it's not licensed in your region, you have to import the DVDs or something similar, as long as it's buying the licensed version.
