Default problems?

I am not trying to put down the new game because I will play no matter what just because it is z, but these are a few problems I see already.

1. The game already has cell. I don;t know how many of you played the old game but the #1 problem was that they ran out of story line. if thats the case this game might be over too soon.

2. they got rid of the main personality. I liked in the old game where everybody's favorite character could be their mp. but know you will be forced to use everybody.

3. lack of originality. making the game compatible with naruto is a cool idea, but it will be like playing the same game. people might get bored with it.

I hope that they don't mess up the game. I will be playing it, and hope it does well, these are just a few of the flaws I saw and hope bandai sucessfully finds a way around them.

yea thats wut i was thinking. if it starts out with cell in the first pack then it could run out 2 fast, but on the other hand the game will be 2 slow to start off if they start the set with dragonball characters cause people wont have their favorite charcters. but i think they can find away around that. like idk mayb they will have short expansion sets focused on movies. that will give them loads of time but mayb not the best idea. lets just hope it ends up like naruto, we both have great fan basis but it might not be as popular as the naruto ccg. and plenty of successful ccg have based their gameplay on other hits games and has worked out just fine. example: wow ccg based gameplay on vs/magic.

Perhaps, but maybe not. If they jump around, instead of trying to follow the anime episode for episode, then they possibly have a much larger pool to draw from. Heck, DB is long enough, that even if they went in order, there'd be PLENTY to draw from.

I didn't play the old game so I cannot comment here, BUT......

Bandai is a toy company, not a card game company. One whose numerous attempts at hitting the right game have, unfortunately, failed. By drawing on the realative success that is NAruto CCG, and kribbing some of it's gameplay aspects, DBCCG might not suffer the same fate as the rest....and being even marginally compatible with Naruto will make for some interesting options - the least of which to consider is the idea that Naruto now becomes an INSTANT EXPANSION for the DBCCG, and vice-versa.

I hope that they don't mess up the game. I will be playing it, and hope it does well, these are just a few of the flaws I saw and hope bandai sucessfully finds a way around them.
Replies in bold....

While these could be seen as flaws, I prefer to see them as strangths. At first *I* was opposed to the compatibility as well, until I realized the plethora of tournament options now available to me as a Meijin, and the fun of battling decks from two seperate games against each other as a player.

What's up everybody.

I know everyone is as excited about this new games as I am, and that's great, because the more people who take an interest, the better the possibilities of this game being a huge success.

I wnated to add my opinion in regards to Soviet Prince's message.

The way i see it, none of these are disadvantages.

I did play the original score game and I loved it, even more when I pulled two super saiyan 3 goku's out of a Buu starter, talk about luck.

Anyways, I see this new game adding even more possibilities and creativeness than the original.

MP' are gone - yeah, heartbreak right, but maybe not. Teams aren't such a bad Idea, and if you really think about it, all of the fights in Z had our favorite characters teaming up against the main bad dude(s). There was Piccolo and Goku against Raditz. All the Z warriors againts Nappa(but if you want to be really technical mainly Krillin and Piccolo teaming and gohan in the end) Then Krillin and Gohan helping out goku. And Gohan, Piccolo and Krillin all against Freiza in his final form. I could go on, but i think you get the point.

Another thing that intrigues me about teams, is that it opens the door for interesting stroies. Someone mentioned that you could put goku in a team with Frieza, that's awesome, we now have an evil version of goku or a heroic version of Freiza, the possibilities are endless with teams. Maybe we could make goku a into a Majin, or maybe cell, that would be sick (in a great way) or even more exciting, Brolly.

And don't be freaked out if later villians of the show wind up in the first set, i'm sure Buu will be in there to. Think of this as the core set, like something compared to Magic. This could be something like that, to get all the die hard DBZ fans and the noobs into it, and let them get a feel for every character and the basic game mechanics, then later expansions may delve into certain themes and maybe divert into something completely differnet than Naruto.

I'm not worried at all about this, and the more I hear the more I get excited, sure everything I said is jsut pure speculation, but it's all we have going for us right now. But this is something i will be checking out, even if i am wrong.

I actually like the idea that it is similar to naruto just because it will be easier to learn (for me).

Honestly, I never played the old game, but hopefully Bandai can find some way to bring back this game in a different matter.

The game is being made not by saga like score did. Cards from Dragon Ball, DBZ and DBGT can all be released in the same set.
Score's dbz card game never really had a problem with running out of sets either, they could have started over from dragon ball or maybe make dbz again after gt ended. Toptiergaming will be making new virtual card sets for score's game and will make them like Bandai is, with cards from every saga in the same set.

I liked the main personalities as well. But just because this game has similar pictures on the cards doesn't mean it will be anything like score's card game.

As Kintaro said, Naruto is Bandai's only successful card game. All the others have failed. Maybe they don't want to risk the dbccg failing and think the best idea is to make it the same as their already successful card game.
This is one of the main reasons why I possibly won't be playing the new dbccg (the other is that I'm not sure if it will even be released in my country...), but I'll wait until I see the first set before I decide to play or not.
Hopefully it will be different to Naruto, putting a picture of goku on the card is not enough to turn it into a different game. If theres no difference then Naruto players will just be paying bandai more money for the same cards they already have.
