Ok just to prove a point here to Zero, what do most people abbreviate Super Saiyans as:
He says most people will use "SS Goku."
I have always, along with almost everyone I've ever known, has called it "SSJ Goku."
I'm pretty sure a good 90%+ of the DBZ fan base uses SSJ to abbreviate Super Saiyans. He says it's like 25% or so...and most people will use "Super Saiyan."
So which do you prefer?

I use SS, because that is the English form. Super Saiya-Jin is the Japanese form and that's why everyone uses it.

Like Zero said if you watched/read the japanese version you will use SSJ but is you watched the english version you will use SS. So in the end it depends on how you watched the show.

I perfure SS, cause I grew up watching DBZ and playing the games using SS over SSJ.

I think your question is answered in the title. Why abbreviate Super Saiyan as "SSJ" when there is no J in the words?
Unless you watched primarily the japenese/dubbed DBZ, you really should abbreviate it as "SS", because otherwise you are adding an extra J to words that don't have it. If you've always said or seen "Super Saiya-jin", then it's totally understandable, but it just doesn't make sense when, in English, it's "Super Saiyan".

I would have to agree with Zero on this one man. I mean I know in Japan, they do say SSJ, but here they do say SS. So unless you are a DBZ nerd like a few people here(including myself :P) then most just ask "what?"
But even knowing that, I still say SS, because it's OUR version of it. It feels weird using a form that doesn't have the J in our "Super Saiyan" you know?
So it might not be 25%, but it's close to that.

I personally always used SSJ because that was how I grew up knowing the abreviation, from watching the Japanese subbed as well as when talking about the series online to people.
Mostly though, I use it in conjunction with names only..
If someone said "What form is Goku in in this picture" I would say,
Super Saiyan 3.
If someone said "Who is this character" I would say, SSJ3 Goku.

SS is what I would abbreviate.
Are we in Japan? Nope, so don't worry about the J!

I can't believe these kind of answers are coming from Naruto players who shorten the Immense Power Gaara deck to 'Over 9000' because someone made a bad joke about that. Or who call a Neji Condom, again, because of a bad joke. But calling super sayains SSJ because in the US there's no 'J' in the title, that's crossing the line.
The fact is, many, if not all of the original fans of Dragon Ball (and I mean before Cartoon Netwrok aired the show) called super sayains SSJ. It's an already established term.
To be honest, this whole topic is silly, but the term has always been SSJ.
To those of you who want to change the minds of millions to call it just SS because you feel it is more fitting, more power to you. But please, start with the stupid Naruto deck nicknames, and leave SSJ, a term used for years, alone until then.

Well then, that's easy. SSJ is used the most.
Go into any DBZ chat and you'll see that.
Plus, SSJ was being used since the mid 90's. I dont think the same can be said about SS.

The point of this thread isn't which abbreviation is correct. It's to see which abbreviation people use the most...

As if there is any debate??? !!!!!! O M G
For all you baka gaijins, in Glorious Nippon (Japan) the Saiya-Jin race is the proper term. SSJ. Deal with it.
This is a roaring debate about General CCG topics has gotten to three pages. Let's get this baby to five. I'm on the ground floor here people.

Personal opinion IMO. Use whatever floats your boat. I will now be reporting this post for spam, because it is turning into a flame war.
