JDragon made a similar thread to this but with Naruto Chunnin (similar to WMAT) decks to show what exactly our meta is like and where it is heading.

These are only the known results and decks from each WMAT, if I am missing anything please let me know and I'll will fix/update the thread.

reminds me of the Yugioh T8 from every tournament for the last 3 or so years. All the top placing decks are the same. Only like 3 different kinds, but all build with 80-90% of the same stuff. Seems like this will be another game where all the tournaments above locals you'll need to build the same deck as everyone else just to have a chance.

Awesome compilation ^.^ Looks like the meta was pretty balanced this set.. There was a wide range of decks taking top spots.. Cept for Georgia.. That area must have been dominated by a single type..

I'm sorry, but what list are you looking at? almost every deck that top 8'd was a Villian deck of some kind. Not very balanced if you ask more or a "wide range of decks" so to speak.

All these tournaments took place with just Set 3, you can't expect that much variety, there are just to few cards.

With set 3 of Naruto the only competitive decks were like Fire/Water and Mono-Water I don't think Mono-Fire became very viable until set 4 when Chidori came out. Also anyone thinking villain is going to dominate the set 4 meta is sadly mistaken.

I said "wide range of decks" not "wide range of symbols". There were infact a lot of different decks being ran. We had Mono Villain, Mono Alien, Alien Villain, Unique Alien and Villain Unique. That's 5 different decks. :)

Actually thats not even swiss or top 8 JB was 2nd and brandon was first in swiss so I dont know where he got these results.

haha both mono alien and earth smash both of those now lol imo the strongest deck is either alien or alien unique both very very powerful

god i wish i could have played instead of judged, could have added a mono alien to floridas top 8, i stomp villian...grrrrrr lol :rolleyes:

I don't think much is going change, if anything the top decks (villian & villian/unique) are only going to get stronger.

Unique+Villain which me and Tommy ran, got really no new additions this set other then Zoonama. Villain got access to the new androids, but still have little in the way of utility cards, while other colors got many more end around effects.

And your deck had pretty good success against both decks, going 2-1, downside was the one loss was in the single elimination round.

Just one change, you listed Cody's deck as a villain/unique/alien but the only unqiue he plays is 2 Piccolo Jr.

I dunno, I updated my friends Villian deck with fusion cards and it seems pretty beastly. I even made a villian/unique just to see how much more powerful it can become. And it was even more beastly. As for my deck, while it was fun playing against your guys decks last format, I don't really think it has a place in this format. Don't worry though I still have a deck thats much more fun to play but a little less effective. :rolleyes:
