Ya you can torrent it or try different anime sites. I wasn't really impressed, the stuff that was new like the opening and ending looked great but the actual episode didn't look much better than the remastered episodes funimation has been releasing on dvd.

Someone on Y o u t u b e uploaded episode 1 and he'll continue to do it as new ones air. It should be fairly easy to find there or for download.

As for what it was like I know people expected these episodes to look like Budokai 3's opening or the ova they released but they already said they wouldn't be redrawing scenes. The only reason to watch this is to watch Dragonball Z as a good Anime without all the filler which it received a lot of bashing for. I liked how they handled episode 1, the Bardock stuff and flashbacks were neat. A lot of footage was cut.

No, if Funimation does intend to acquire it, it would be after they finish releasing their remastered versions. They're close to the end though, around Buu or Fusion Saga. It would be quite a while before they pick it up. That is, if they pick it up at all. Nothing's confirmed as of now.

Umm dude.. Its way shorter.. Episode 1 of DB Kai contained 2 full episode of DBZ and then it added some of its own content.. Plus the new updated art looks epic.. The newly animated scenes look amazing as well!

Agreed. I saw the opening and thought the entire show was going to be in that level of animation. I feel like if it had been, an entirely new generations eyes would've been opened up.

It would have been cool if they used new animation for everything but that would have been WAY too expensive for them to even consider..

Kai means Re-cut and that is exactly what was promised and delivered :)

Yeah, if you want to watch Dragonball Z in just remastered, that's what Funimation's for. If you want to watch the series properly and more like the Manga, that's what Kai is for. I thought they did a great job. The Bardock stuff was a nice addition and 2 episodes into 1 despite that additional footage is a lot of junk cut when we're talking Z.

Gotta love watching bardock fly for 5 minutes.. Then Goku fly for 5 minutes.. Then Bardock arrive at Kame house and have everyone gawk at him for 5 minutes.. Did I mention that every little scene took 5 minutes? lol..
