Super Evil - Exclusive Preview #5

Team Covenant delivers their final Fusion preview today and yes... the best was saved for last. The card? Piccolo's very own technique Super Evil Wave Explosion. I think I like this card. Anyone else?

Wow i think this with invasion in a alien unique can be ridiculous and its nice you have 2 users i mean even piccolo JR can use it ....

I like this card alot as a 1 of. with the lack of draw in the game, its not uncommon to have a small hand in the late game. Being able to bomb your opponents hand for 2-3 cards when they chump or let you through could be a game defining play. I still think uniques "hand control" theme sucks terribly, and shouldnt be played outside dabura and now this card.

Also, the art gets a 10/10

i know NOBODY will agree with me on this but id rather play Last Gamble over this. simply cause its a cheaper discard. im too lazy and im not gonna waste a crap load of chi to discard MAYBE 2 cards on a good day when i can get a whole hand for the roughly the same amount. that doesnt make Last Gamble ANY better but then Discard is terrible in this game to begin with. thats my 2 cents. Hellzone Grenade (what this card pretty much represents considering the flavor text) is an okay card but i dont think itll see much competitive play when you got Dabura.

If last gamble didnt require you to discard your hand as well, wasn't T6 defender, and was usable by more than just Piccolo, I might agree with you. Sadly this is not the case

anyways, I like this card a lot since it's king piccolo or piccolo that can use this card. It should have a small bit of room in an evil tribe deck...but truthfully I'm getting inspired of building a villian and unique deck more and more

I kind of like it. Like everyone else, the art's great. I don't know if I'd play it but it seems worth trying 1 copy if I have the space. It's cool that there are two users for it.

This is absolutely superior to Last Gamble. For the reasons that Zero said and that Last Gamble discards at the end of the turn... So they can use up their Techniques first. This is an immediate discard which is so much better. Yeah, they can chain to it but I don't see how Last Gamble is better than this.

They can still use their Techs on the chain, but it cut down on the amount they can play as they can't let techs resolve to chi. the fact that it doesn't ditch your hand makes it better.

From running a Villain-Unique deck, I'd say that this card still would see play. It only costs a single specific chi, and even Villain-Unique is fairly light on chi unless you're lucky/unlucky enough to draw 2 (or 3) Expanding Vibrations and some Powered Guns together. Additionally, I like how your opponent doesn't get to choose which cards to lose, as it's random. Finally, not many opponents will have more than 3 or 4 cards in their hand this late in the game, unless A) they've not used any techs or events (or missed a significant number of drops), or B) Dende's wish was involved.

And losing 2-3 cards from a hand can spell game over, since you'll have to top deck like a mother to win.

Also, when I say "3", I mean this tech + Dabura. Not "pay six chi"

he was just jokeing lol. I really like this tech, it seems like unique is going the hand lockdown theme, which is bad for me, cause i always keep an ape in my hand. looks like i'll have to play them all on the field. too bad it doesn't say let your opponent pick.

In most card games one-of's are indeed interesting and important. However, it seems to me that in this game they carry a bit of extra weight. I think this is largely due to the fact that you only have 40 cards in your deck. Having 1 of something in your deck is not only viable, but logical.

I'm gonna agree with everyone about the art the art is amazing.
What I do wish though is this ability and cost to be saved for Hellzone Grenade. I think it would have been more true, XX = how many grenades you throw at your opponent. Super Evil Wave Explosion probably should have just been a damage + another effect.

Other then that, awesome ability. I will definitly be looking to put a copy of this in my deck and another copy in my Sideboard for the second game if I see my opponent losing cards real fast during the beginning of the game.
