No, fierce is always active, Thrash is only active when you are the attacker

In addition, Thrash only takes place when you win an Overwhelming Victory. Fierce takes place with that OR a victory.

which makes me happy. i love how guys from this set like complete cell, ss 3 goku, and ss trunks can easily eliminate/strongly discourage chump blocking. it will speed up the game, and imo make it more fun.
