View Full Version : "Adventure Showdown" Speculation

So far this phrase is like Kwanzaa, I've heard of it but I have no idea what it's about.

My theory on the Adventure Showdown is much like Clash from Magic: The Gathering. Both players reveal the top card of their Planet and the highest Turn Cost gets some bonus effect or additional Team Power (I'm leaning toward the latter). The Team Power increase could be the difference between the two cards revealed or simply the Turn Cost of the winning revealed card.

Edit: I was hoping it would not be like it is but that was my initial thought.

As long as this card never makes its way into Dragonball I'll be okay

There are actually quite a few cards already released that can help out. Do some research. You'll be surprised at what you find. Some of these cards aren't heavily played at all, compared to Baba.

Would be nice if we could view what the mechanic does without having to register.

During the Showdown, both players perform an Adventure (reveal the top card of their Planet). Team power is considered to be the Turn Cost of the card that is revealed. Compare Team Power just as a normal Showdown and apply victory and defeat conditions normally.

So if I reveal a 3 and you reveal a 5, my Power is 3 and yours is 5, and you get a Victory with a difference of 2.

If I reveal a 6 and you reveal a 1, my Power is 6 and yours is 1, and I get an Outstanding Victory with a difference of 5.

Best example of this was an injured Piano team wiping someone's Android team with an Adventure Showdown. :D

yeah, adventure Showdown is going to be pretty mean. Prepare to see Scouters and Baba's in almost every side deck.

Possibly main decked and don't forget about Throwing An Elite Unit onto the Front Lines either.

Adventure is a really fun mechanic anyways. I built a Krillin deck that tries to abuse Destructo Disk by building it with 80% of the cards having even Turn Cost. ( 0, 2, 4, 6).

it seems like that would make it hard to hit your curve. how well does it work?

You run your 0 drops as 0 and 1 drops..
You run your 2 drops as 2 and 3 drops..
You run your 4 drops as 4 and 5 drops..

that's how you fill the curve :)

yeah, i know. but it still seems like on the odd turns you would lag at least a little behind. since 1's tend to be stronger than 0's, 3's tend to be stronger than 2's, etc. but i guess if you found enough good even drops, you could minimize that.

Nah you wouldn't.. There are a lot of cards whose effects can make up for stats and henceforth.. It would hurt if you missed a drop though :D
