They try to make the new forums "better" where as members abuse it on the last forum they disable it on the next one. Its total BS IMO. We should get avatars. =/

Use of avatars is, if i remember correctly, copyright infringement. (using images w/o permission)

Using other people's work, unless you have permission, is not legal.

Granted you could prove that you have permission from a specific artist to use their work but then someone could easily fabricate...

I really doubt that's true. Artists won't look at every forum and report Bandai that they're using his/her avvies. It's proably 2 second clips from the show that causes trouble....

And that still doesn't make sense. =/

And if avatars are so "bad" why do oher forums keep it optional?

Thanks for reminding me of this guys. They are definately right! Corporations dont' need an artist or the owner of a license breathing down their backs due to the fact that someone on their forum is using an avatar that breaches their copyright agreement. It's not good business for them :cool:

Ah, okay. Thanks for the tidbit. I suppose we really can't do anything as this is Bandai's forum. If they wanto allow avatars and signatures they will. But then again the real reason we are on these forums to talk about the game.
