So as you all know, Journey of Adventure found it's home in pretty much every deck.
I don't think I'll be running it when the new set drops, because with the newer curved drops and better warrior selection, I just don't think the game is going to drag into late game quite so dramatically.
What are some views on this?
I really liked journey, because once you get down to two or less cards in your deck you can stack the stuff you need, but before late game I've found it pretty much useless.
Converse about it!

I've never run Journey of Adventure in any deck that I've had, I don't think decking out is that much of an issue.
I think the current staples were really just Goku T0, Cell, and Super Holy Water. Outside those cards, I feel that it really depended on the deck. I think that 19 and 20, or at least one of them will become a staple, as well as perhaps Saibamen or General Blue, but that will be seen once the next deck comes out.

Agreed. Only I would add King Kai and possible Baba to that list.
I'd say King Kai more than baba, but yes.

I still like Journey with Invasion in an alien deck.. Only because of the chi control that villain poses and how expensive alien techniques and events are..
Mmmm Staples.. As you guys said Baba and Kai..
General Blue..

I agree I still think Alien is viable and can do the long game in which journey is still needed. With the androids 19 and 20 it will definately make it harder to pull things out like captured and stomping but not impossible .

Definitely kid Goku, Water, Journey, and Cell.
I don't know how much healing is in set 2, but Senzu Beans probably still works.
Resisting Power could be more useful, if there are more Destruction techniques to cancel out.
I put Bulma in every deck, just to have that extra Dragon Ball. That probably won't change.
Might still use Piano, but I see him being used less in general, with mono decks being more viable.
I think you can definitely say that Launch is going to be a staple in all decks, as they each have events that can be discarded for a beneficial effect, and the faster you discard them, the faster you can get that effect out onto the field.

I fully dissagree with this. As much as I love her, I know all to well launch has limited play.
The best card she can pop is the android card, but the odds of hitting her + the even on T3 and not missing a drop prior by holding off on playing her are just to slim to make it worth the trouble. Most times you end up with a slow event or a 0/1 warrior who doesn't do much. I also hear launch starts are terrible.
Holy water, as good as it was last format is probably going down in playability this format with the introduction of more pumps for Villan and Unique that are both on color, and slightly more effective.
Set 2 warrior staples will probably look something like:
Goku
Kai
Baba
Blue
19
The only tech staple I would say is Resisting power, but with containment wave dodging it, it may see less play. For events, captured is still nuts.

Care to explain Android 19? I know he's a great card, but I can't see using him outside of his respective color.

Hes just good chi control for deck that need a lot of chi like alien and any dual symbol deck in my opinion.

Well, for starters, stat wise he is on par with all 4 drops, so by playing him you don't lose anything other then element count. More importantly, he constantly burns chi. In naruto Chakra is far less relevant to the flow of game, where as in dragon ball, all big guys have Chi cost, all events have chi cost, on top of techs having chi cost. So by consistently burning, you cut your opponents chi generation and thus limit him from making big plays. I see no reason to not play 19 as ATLEAST a 1 of in any deck.

19 or 20. I will have to play test with them and see who's the better one.

I was thinking since 20 is defender then you can mess your opponent up his chi on his turn, but 19 maybe better idk. I know 19 is much better in a rush deck.

I just wanna point out Chi Chi maybe come one. Think about it Goku T0 is probably the most Stapled card of them all and Chi Chi needs him. So she pretty much a 2/2_0/2 with toughness. Those are nice stats for a T0.

I dunno about staple.. many people use Chiaozu, who is 2/2 0/2, and he is turn 1 which is a minus, though it shouldn't make a difference as it will take turn 0 and 1 to get Goku and ChiChi out, as well as him not having Toughness which is a minus, but the plusses that he is Super and that he doesn't depend on 1 card to have good stats make him better.

plus, what good is Toughness on a support warrior?? 9 times out of ten, Chi-Chi will be the support warrior with Goku as the Head.

Only when you're chump blocking with her, and even then she'd have to be on a team with Goku.
While she doesn't suck, she certainly isn't any staple.
