I think that highly depends on the deck.

i think right now duel deck are better just because we only have 113 cards, but when the awakening comes out i think mono will be much more feasible... except maybe earth, but we'll have to see the previews before we can decide on that element.

I agree, as of now dual element decks seem to do better most of the time. But, once Awakening comes out I am execting Mono decks to become top tier.

post set 2 I am thinking that both decks can stand a chance on winning.
I'm actually switching to a dual deck from a mono deck next set :O

Umm.. I think Mono decks with a small splash of another symbol is the best option.. Not necessarily enough splash to make it a dual but to have one card chi cost that isn't of the mono element wouldn't hurt.. i.e. playing SS Vegeta in a mono Unique.. Yeeah :p
Mono ftw!
Sorry if I didn't make the above clear.. I was attempting to describe a mono deck with some dual properties :o I hope that message comes through..

While I certainly agree that currently dual is the best type at the moment because of the sheer volume of available cards, I don't know if mono will ever be better over a dual deck. While yes, it increases the chance of having the chi type of what you need in your chi area, in a dual deck that is fairly balanced (19-21, 20-20, maybe even up to 23-17), do you have that much of a problem having use of the chi type that you need?
Furthermore, every type has its "downfall" for example, Supers have very few support characters, aliens have NO boosting cards, Uniques really work best only as a team, and having single characters out is generally useless, Earth ... is Earth, and Villians are pretty much in my opinion in the same boat as Earth until this next expansion.
Even then however, every mono deck has the basic "weaknesses' of its type. With dual you can frequently make up for the weakness of one another, while with mono you are kinda stuck with them. I'm just saying that it goes hand in hand, you lose the 100% assurance of having the chi type you need, but for that loss you can gain a possible balance. Granted, some people make unbalanced decks, but at the same time, if you really know what you're doing, you can fix the problems of a mono type deck.
KingJwon06, I'm eager to hear your rebuttle.

i like mono but thats me. i used to play naruto and i like decks thats are mono but plays alot of other element tech. like over 9000 was wind but played alot of tech that was water or lightning and so on. i think it depends on the player and their style.

When I (and some other ppl have said this too) talk about a mono deck, I'm not saying to only have one type period w/o splashes, I'm saying there is only one type of card with a specific chi cost. For example, i wouldn't put a SSJ Vegeta or Special Beam Cannon into a mono super deck, but I would though put cell or Senzu Beans into a mono super deck. There is no way that you can make all 40 cards in your deck one element and expect it to be competitive IMO. At least not any time soon.

well, right now, I'm running a Unique/Super deck but next set I'm going to try out mono decks of all.

Oh, I understood you still would have cards like Goku turn zero, Cell, super holy water, etc. But I still don't think that those few cards you could splash into them would make any mono deck very powerful at the moment, at least until the next booster. But even then, a dual might still have the advantage, especially with Alien, who has no buffs.

Alien has the best removal type cards in Death Ball , Stomping , and Captured.
Agreed, but at what cost? Captured, if you're capturing a high level card, costs a lot of chi. My alien deck frankly rarely has more than 3 or 4 chi at any given moment. Captured is also ... 'easy' to avoid? At least, for a key character like Frieza. Evolution makes is a dead card, which is awesome. Stomping just reduces a teams value for a single battle phase, and Deathball requires a Frieza FF with a dragonball, which is no easy feat in it of itself, and if you build a deck around that card, or even expect to use it every match, let alone every game, you're shortsighted in that respect. (You being a player, not you being YOU)

I can't agree with anybody on saying that just because we're still in set 1, that dual is better. I've run a mono Unique deck since I started playing, and it's only been beaten once. (No I'm not bragging or trying to say it's unstoppable) Honestly, I just think that it depends on what strategy you put into the formation of your deck. You want to beat a person into the ground, then do it...and form your deck around it. You want to win by obliterating your opponents Planet count to 0...then do it... Mono... Dual... doesn't really matter. Just don't make a foolish deck and expect to win. i.e.: Don't put Frieza FF, Goku SS, Vegeta, Piccolo and Giant Ape in one deck, and expect to win.

I'd be highly interested in playing your mono unique deck. Not because of your win record, but because I've yet to play against a mono deck of any type and not be unimpressed. I honestly don't think mono works. Not at the moment, and maybe not in the future either.
But yeah, if there is any way you'd be willing to play, PM me on a way to get in contact with you.

I think that card alone is a waste. Using up your deck, not knowing what you're going to drop into your chi and eventually discard pile is reckless, at least in my deck setup.

It really depends what element's you're trying to mix. By the way, v.s. doesn't mean anything, vs. does.

Actually...both are valid. It's either "Vs." or "V.S."

Well that card is what really helps out a mono-Alien deck.
