Okat so heres the deal.
Lets say i have Ariod 17 out and my opponent has Cell with a dragonball coin on him out.
He sends out Cell.
I defend with 17.
My opponent then use Mercelless Attack on my 17.
How much Chi would he have to pay to target my 17?

11, at least one of which has to be a Villain Chi.

Breakdown:

Merciless Attack has to be used by a Villain Warrior. Cell is using it. So requirements are met.

The cost is (V)XX

So 1 Villain Chi, and then X and X

X equals the Turn Cost of the Warrior, with a minimum of 1, because of the X cannot equal 0 rule.

And since it has two X's, they both have to be paid fully.

So the cost is then (V)(5)(5).

Which equals out to 11 Chi total. 1 Villain and 10 anything.

Thats what i was saying but I was playing my Mejin today in the Mejin challenge and he was saying you split the cost so it would only cost 7 chi.
Like since hes a turn five you round it up one to 6 then add one villian chi so it would be 7.

No, your Meijin is very incorrect, and you should slap him on the wrist for not knowing the proper ruling.

When there are more than one X's in the cost of something, you must determine X, and then pay each X to it's full amount.

This happened the first time we got a double X jutsu in Naruto, it was some water jutsu that costed 1 Water and X X. And it milled X cards off the top of the opponent's deck. We had to go over it really quick to realize that you only get to mill X, but have to pay X twice.

I know i know but how do you argue with your mejin?
I tried saying that and used Naruto as an example but he just said they are both two totally different games. >_<
Look for that ruling on this site then print it out and show him, if he says anything is wrong. Then hes just cheating for his own uses.
