Getting people to play the game

How can I get people to play the game? What about your own areas of play. Did you have to convince a lot of people or were most already excited about the game? I need some pointers, a lot of the kids in my area have never seen any Dragonball anime of any kind so its harder to draw those kids in.

The best people to hit is the naruto players since the game mechanics are the same but i dont play naruto and play DBZ because i love the anime and the video games not to mention the art in this game is amazing.

yeah the only reason the people around me got into it is because we played the old one. i dunno how to get them to watch the anime cause thats preaty much how i get into my ccgs. lol. the anime is kinda old and these kids these days are all into the newer animes like yugioh and naruto. not that there is anything wrong with those animes. just my opinion bring some of the anime to your local gaming store along with your cards and play some games while having the anime playing and i bet that people will stop by to check it out

I dunno I have seen naruto and yugioh and still DBZ way more then all of them i think the anime will def impress them if you can get them to sit through it .

hold a movie night and show a saga or 2 of Dragonball/z for some kids. They want to play very quickly :D

I doubt this will work for you, but at my store all we do is tell the kids to start the game and they do lol. Like with DB, we have like 5-7 players each Sunday and when Awakening comes out I know we will be getting 2 more players.

From our store I noticed a few naruto/yugioh people just watching us play, then they asked us what the game was, so we taught them.

Some of my friends were skeptical, so I made them some cheap decks and showed them that it was a bit more fun than naruto...they soon started buying starters...lol

And trading SRs for $5 lol. They are nuts about it, well James is.

At my store when TWR came out a kid I know bought like 3 packs and pulled a Piccolo and trades it for 2 packs.... Then, out of those he pulls Vegeta and trades it for a micro-waveable cheeseburger adnd a root beer..... Wish I had been there:(.

Dude he has a "pack" addicition...he always has to get a super no matter what...But, 2 good things came out of him (2 x SS Goku)...lol

That's the way use them younger kids technology against em and show then what the old days of anime was like. Not Astro Boy old tho. |.|

For all those that care... I've got a least two more kids wanting to play the game! Its hard to encourage playing a game when they can't buy any packs (everywhere in our area is sold out)

well, for now, if you have any extra cards that your not going to use and your shop has starters, then just use those. When this next set comes out, Start pushing for more players.

you just try and get people to play the game if they dont want to play it.
