Villain & Unique

I'm having trouble distinguishing between what characters might be found in Unique and Villain. Based on the examples, it appears that they could fall under both symbols.

Unique examples; King Piccolo & Piccolo
Villain Examples; Cell, Androids, Mercenary Tao

The only thing that I see in common is that the Unique symbol features Nameks and the Villain symbol features androids and cyborgs.

I think Villains will probably be any bad guy from earth. And I could probably see some of the fighters from the "after life"(forgot the name) tournament being in Unique.

So Unique might be good guy aliens.

One small issue that can easily be dispensed of but shouldn't Vegeta fall under the Unique class?

Also, King Piccolo was evil until he died, he never became a good guy :( so he couldn't be Unique with that logic.

Maybe Unique characters are different versions of a charcter.

(EX: King Piccolo, Piccolo, Piccolo w/ Kami, Piccolo w/ Nail,)

I have no clue, this is just speculation.

Well, this is not Naruto so we might get characters with different symbols. But you see where my idea was going. But I guess another name for Unique will be "We needed a place to put this guy".

Well, so far Alien makes since. Its all the bad guys from space.

They should've done Saiyans, Aliens, Earthlings, Villans, and Dead [(for lack of a better term) I mean after they die w/ their little halos]. This way a character could have both "Saiyan" and "Dead," for example. And they could remake cards of dead villans (similar to a USe Zabuza coming out now in Naruto).

P.S: Why is Krillin in Super? This would make sense for DB but not so much in DBZ.

This is the way I see it so far.

Super= Best fighters on Earth with great powers of chi.
Earth= Normal people(things) that live on earth.
Aliens= Bad guys from space.
Unique= Guys that didn't fit in the others.
Villains= Bad guys from earth.

For the wind comment, I was referring that Wind is mainly support characters, so will Earth in DB, it looks like so far.

Well this should have been in the Q&A forum or the "we have rules" Thread.

But its basically like this.

Lets say Goku has "Evolution 4: Goku".

It lets you replace that Goku on the field with one in your hand, on turn 4 and after.

since the game will not go in story order, remake of dead villians will not be a problem.

If Bulma, and Possibly Chichi and Ox are in Earth i dont see it as completely useless, Underpowered maybe, but useless highly doubtfull.

maybe the Earth Type is similar to that of the Wind Type in Naruto, where the type is more of a control element instead of a aggressive element.

also for anybody that cought the battle parts of the rules book how are the battles going to happen?

Left numbers only or Leader uses the Left number and the remainder uses the right number?

Ill be reading the rules when i get to work, so im just being lazy right now.

Edit: The battles work out exactly like naruto, the only difference was the Charging, Either any amount from my hand or 1 from the top of my deck or both.

not much of a difference, 25 max. Guess ill be running 24 with the remainder beign Techniques and Events.

Guess its going to be may soon so in about 2.5 months ill be playing DBCCG. nice. :)

I really like the way that the symbols were done. I'm sure bandai put a lot of thought into them when putting their ideas onto the table. The five symbols were chosen and the characters were categorized as they are now, due to the fact that there is a large contrast in what type of characters appear throughout DragonBall, DragonBall Z, and DragonBall GT. In DragonBall the mention of Saiyans was minimal and basically non-existant. Therefor, if there were a Saiyan category we wouldn't have anyone from DragonBall in it. In DragonBall Z, a lot of human characters were blown away due to the huge power level increase (I'm not referring to the Z fighters as such but more to the villains how became good guys in DragonBall). The categories chosen allow characters from all three series to fit into the symbols.

With that said, I'd like to touch a bit on the possibility of dual-symbols. It's very possible that due to having such general symbols, we will see characters being created in more than one symbol. Frieza could have the alien symbol but he could also have a villain symbol. Goku could have the super symbol and the earth symbol. If Bandai had clued into this possibility then it definately opens many doors for this game. One of the main problems with the Naruto CCG was balance among the elements. If Bandai were to employ a dual-symbol system then that would rectify such a problem in the DragonBall CCG.

Haha, it would be awesome if they did that. Would definately fix the balance problem that the Naruto CCG had :D

well when you think about it, technically vegeta and frieza are or were villains. so why is frieza classified under alien. Many characters are going to be like that. By that i mean falling under two classes. I sort of agree with what gammerx is going with
