Something that has been bugging me is the difference in payment cost in Goku payment cost has a symbol in it yet Gohan don't. Also if you look at resistant cost effect there is a symbol with a number on it yet Goku and Gohan don't have numbers in the payment. So do you all have any ideas on what may mean.

As I said over in the other thread, it seems we may be getting a turn/"chakra" cost, as opposed to the turn/hand cost. Different symbols and colors depending on the card.......hmmm.....
And now that I look closer, there seems to be a Dragon Ball in from of that Goku (SS)'s text - so much forthe "Dragon Ball Drop" theory.....

well I wonder if it will be easyer to get ki out and why does goku's cost have symbols yet gohan has none
What are the two blurbs next to Gohan's turn drop that is the same shape as the symbols on Goku's? It's too small for me to tell if there's a number there or not.

They seem definitely interesting cards...I wonder if the "dragon ball coin" (on gohan) = naruto's "ninja blade coin" (Growth)

I think it just means that Gohan does not have a Hand/"chakra" cost, because he is a 3 drop. But SS Goku being a 6 drop has a 2 Hand/"chakra" cost.

That's why I think they're goin for the "chakra"/Ki/whatever, in lieu of the hand cost - otherwise why not a number :p

There is a symbol. It's a dash; " - ". My guess is what Evil Jim said although it would be neat if we had to pay KI as a cost of powering up.

Yeah but what I am saying is why not have no ki symbol if it needs no ki. Also if the dash means no ki cost then why does not Goku have a 2 instead of displaying 2 ki's on the card. (I hope you all get what I am saying finding it difficult to put in words.)

I get what EJ was saying, since I had a closer look at the card after I posted, and yeah, it's a null sign. But as soviet said, why any symbol at all?

Look we have no idea how it will work, I know you want to talk about speculation of the game. But until we know it is a hand cost or "chakra" cost, it could go 2 very different ways. Maybe the DB game just wants to have the color of the hand cost on the card. In the SJ cards, (though maybe old) all have a blue symbol for the hand/"chakra" cost.

I know it can be 2 diffrent ways and I also know we don't the rules yet but this is a speculation thread where we can predict how things will work by using evidence to come up with an resonable answer.

As far as the payment cost, it makes sense to me. The first time Goku went Super Saiyan it was because Piccolo sacfriced himself to save Goku and then Krillian got popped. All this to say it think it a cool cost. I would be cool with this as long as I could sack from the field or my hand for a cost like this. At the same time, these cards have not be confirmed to be real, so they could be really cool fakes. We will just have to wait and see.

The previews that has been shown thus far have not been endorsed by Bandai. Bandai has not officially released any previews for the DragonBall CCG. Therefor, I do not understand where you are getting the idea that people are comparing the games due to the cards being similar. It's very possible that someone used photoshop to create those cards. You might ask yourself, "Why would someone do that?". People do strange things for no apparent reason. Until we are given something official, I wouldn't base my arguments on something that hasn't been endorsed by Bandai.
The only thing we have to go off of is what James Takenaka has said. He has told the community here that the DragonBall CCG will be compatible with the Naruto CCG. This does not mean they are the same game. However, there was a lot of discussion regarding how similar the games might be due to this. It is all speculation as we have not seen the rulebook. It was thanks to this that people were wondering how similar the games were. Some people went as far as to say that they were the same. Before these potentially fake cards were released, people were speculating as to how similar the games would be thanks to James saying that the games would be compatible.

You had originally said that the reason people were saying that the DragonBall CCG will be the same as the Naruto CCG is due to the card templates. I am disagreeing with you on that point. I think it's fairly obvious, for reasons mentioned in my above posts, that the reason people were misled was because of the wording Jtakenaka used in his news post. He said that the games were compatible. This wording misled people to believe that compatible meant they were the same.

If you really want to get down to brask tasks. You joined the forum on April 10th, 2008. I join on March 19th, 2008 when the forum first opened. Honestly, I find it very ignorant to almost dismiss what previews we have now as fake. So far, these cards compare to the previews we've recieved in the Shonen Jump. Add in the fact that this game isn't exactly the next Halo, and you have absolutely no reason to have any pro photoshopper come in and start faking cards.
Be more rational and consider what the press has released against the newest information. Does it line up? If it does, it's completely plausible. You're trying to dispel facts under the pretense of the rulebook not existing, yet we know it's somewhat compatible with Naruto, so we have to assume there are similarities (as in, there is a turn cost and there is energy colors and there is characteristics and there are statuses). People are comparing the games because they are similar; not just because the cards are similar, but because it has been said elsewhere that it is similar enough to hold unofficial matchups between them. It's not necessarily the same, yes, but it is similar.
Please, don't try to pull my PSA routine without knowing why you're doing it.

Wow, where did that come from? I never said anything was concrete. I was merely stating that we shouldn't base any conclusions on the promos before they are confirmed by Bandai. However, it has been confirmed by Bandai and that is great! Previews are good and I am as happy as the next person that the previews are indeed genuine.
