Hello All,
I thought i would take a moment to share my opinion and try to get others opinions aswell regarding masteries. For those of you that do not know, Masteries were a card type / game mechanic of both previous DBZ games, (and in my opinion one of my favorites).
This card was a seeded card you started the game with that gave you a benefit for having you entire deck be one element/color.
The reason i feel this is a great mechanic for the new game is because when i played naruto the majority of ppl all played the same lower drops example NTC and AOC no matter what elements there decks were based aorund. I hated this. masteries put a stop to this right off the hop.
Now I know that masteries were created by Score and that this is a new game made by bandai with no ties whatsoever to the previous games but i still feel this would be an excellent mechanic to try and work in.
what are everyone else's thoughts? and opinions?

Great Idea! One of the main reasons why the Naruto CCG got boring was because everyone used the same low drops. This would encourage people to use different drops and hopefully it can also create a new type of themed deck. What I'm getting at is that the masteries could focus on certain strengths or weakness' of an 'element' to make that type of deck more competative.

it's a good idea but will not happen becuse they just won't lol. also would this lead to one mastery being the dominate mastery, like the ones that have the better effect or better lower drops would win most games.

I think it would be a great idea. Anything that is from the old dbz game would help improve bandai's game =P.
I don't think that it would lead to one mastery being dominate, unless Bandai made it better than all the others.

Yeah.. it is actually quite easy to do masteries and keep them balanced.. Just like Cam said "masteries could focus on certain strengths or weakness' of an 'element' to make that type of deck more competative." They just need to be that much more careful when creating cards.

Masteries would be a good mechanic to put in the game, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. There is pretty much no chance that any aspect of Score's game will be added into this game.

I think the Wish cards are going to be the "Masteries" of this game. I am not saying they are the same, but I think Wish cards are just that little extra thing that helps you make theme of the deck, since there are 4 wish cards, you get to pick which best fits your deck. A Mastery did the same, its helped you out in our theme. Well, now that I think about it, the Wish cards might be more like Sensei cards, but you should get where I was going at.

as for the game right when it starts this is a bad idea cause that will in turn prov to be a prob cause of the"high powered card" hting that alot of people r tryin to avoid
but i do however see this happening in the future for this game if it does well

Good point but it's going to apply a little differently to the new game. Masteries could be used by a color, however the wish cards can be used by any 'element'. That's they key difference :) Other than that they are the same ^^

but whats going to happen is R&R for DBccg like it did for naruto wat ever "mastery" was the best draw is most likely going to be the best deck
IMO i dont think this wats going to happen its just wat my friends think i think wats going to happen is either wat mastery is most balanced or which mastery will help u get Dragon Balls faster like the new gohan

Dragonballs are definately going to be a big part of this game. Cards like Gohan and Goku will definately be mandatory in a lot of top tier decks. I don't know if that will effect masteries as such but I can definately say that DragonBalls will be a big deal when the game is released in July.
Bandai may very well do an R & R set for the DragonBall CCG. It's a good idea to re-print some old cards and improve non-compoetative decks by providing them with competative cards.

if there is a reprint set hopefully it will give it 3-4 sets before even considering it.

Yeah, I don't see it happening anytime soon. It will definately occur sometime in the future but I wouldn't worry about it happening just yet.
